The Month of Gratitude

The Month of Gratitude

Posted by Cherry Rose Cottage on Nov 1st 2022

Welcome to November, dear friends.  October passed by in a blink.  For me, November is a time of reflection and introspection.  It's a time of reflecting on the events of the past year and beginning to plan for the coming year.  After the hustle and bustle of the fall festivals in October, generally November is a quieter month around here culminating in what I call a total sloth day (for me) on Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is the day I generally "eat, sleep and be merry" so to speak!  It is one of the very few days of the year I allow myself to do absolutely nothing if I want, reflect on all the things I am grateful for and recharge a little bit.

For many folks Christmas shopping begins the day after Thanksgiving and my annual tradition is to visit a nearby small town and go antique shopping.  It is a very merry day with carolers singing in the square and in the evening the lighting of their beautiful Christmas tree which is also on the square.  Shop owners participate in a contest to determine who has the most festive Christmas window display and many shops offer cookies and cider for those so inclined.  It is always inspiring to visit and see what's in the shops, view the window displays and examine new products.  I come away with a renewed sense of excitement and generally a plethora of new ideas filling my head.  It is the perfect experience to absorb some holiday cheer and get my Christmas spirit soaring.

Speaking of Christmas shopping, this past month I added some new treasures to the shop and I have a lot more in stock to add.  I have some fun tee shirts (some of which are collectible) and some cute dresses and skirts coming up this week.  In addition, I also have some vintage jewelry and figurines that will hopefully be added this week.  After the first of the year I hope to get back to stocking up the crystal shop with new and delightful treasures.  I have also dipped my toe back in the water with hand embellishing some very cute skirts and skorts and hope to get those in the store very soon.

For those customers who signed up for the store newsletter, beginning this month I will be sending out special offers for some great store discounts.  I will begin by sending only one offer per month so be sure to keep an eye out for the coupon so you don't miss out on a super great deal.  If you haven't signed up yet, what are you waiting for?  In addition, the weekly sales events are back in swing so please check the banner on the home page for sales announcements.  The sales categories change weekly so if the item you are thinking about is not on sale this week, check back often to be sure you don't miss out.

As we begin the rush towards the end of the year, I hope you will come in and take a look around Cherry Rose Cottage.  This time of year is very important for all small businesses and can often mean the difference between staying open or closing their doors.  It's one of the reasons why I start the Christmas season by shopping local small businesses.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to my new customers and, as always, a huge thank you to my regular customers without whose support Cherry Rose Cottage would not be possible.  Please know you are so very appreciated.

Wishing each of you a very happy Thanksgiving.  May you have a wonderful holiday and spend some quality time with family and friends.
