Hello and Happy May! Since April showers bring May flowers, we should have a veritable jungle going on this month considering all the April showering we have had here in the South.  I know for certain the poison ivy is lush and green because I've already been outside trying to pull it out.

These past few months I've been talking about the ins and outs of Cherry Rose Cottage and how I operate the store.  This month I'm going to share with you a little bit about how I select items for the store (which I hope will be a more fun read!).

My personal taste ranges from feminine pink roses, shabby style, cottage garden chic to Halloween, dark, gothic, vampiric style stuff.  And a whole lot in between.  What this means for Cherry Rose Cottage is that I have no set style or "kind of thing" for which I am specifically searching other than items of quality.  Quality construction and materials are always at the forefront of my mind when I am examining items to add to the Cherry Rose Cottage selection of products.

As far as clothing goes, I am always drawn to color and unique eye catching prints.  I love bright, beautiful floral patterns, stripes, polka dots and color block designs.  Lace, sequins, beading and sparkly stuff of any kind will always get my attention.  I have been sparkle obsessed since I was a child and adore anything shiny.  When I was in my 20s, I had a number of sequin dresses in various colors in my closet at all times.  That isn't to say I won't pick up more classic styles and colors, and, in fact, I do have a good number of classic items in the store, but sparkly items always grab me first.

With regards to decorative items, I am in love with vintage items and antiques.  What's hilarious about this fact is that when I was younger, I would roll my eyes and run like crazy from anything vintage or antique.  My comment went something like, "Why would I want something OLD?"  Now, as the old saying goes, I'm constantly buying back the stuff I discarded during my younger years that was an intrinsic part of my childhood and that elicits a feeling of nostalgia associated with that time in my life.

Lastly, I want to share a little bit about the Wild Cherry line of products.  The Wild Cherry section of the website includes anything vintage, including clothing, glassware & what-nots, as well as handmade, upcycled and new items, such as hand appliquéd clothing, jewelry and home decor.  Wild Cherry offerings will be constantly evolving and my goal is to eventually expand to include items from small local artisans in my area.  Selling unique items is much more labor intensive than selling 100 of the same item, but, to me, offering a treasure trove of unique items is where my heart lies.  I am very excited about the Wild Cherry line as it's always been a dream of mine.  If I can help support other small businesses making handmade items, so much the better!

I hope you will be delighted with the wide range of flavor you find at Cherry Rose Cottage.  I envision the store as a treasure hunt where you never know what you might find and where my customers look forward in anticipation to see what might show up here next.  I hope you will join me on this adventure by following along on Instagram and Pinterest where new items are posted as they are added to the store.  You can also follow Cherry Rose Cottage store on ebay which contains a different selection of items than our website.  For a quick Cherry Rose Cottage fix, visit the home page here on the website and navigate to the "Shop All" section from the top menu.  Items in the Shop All category are a current listing of the newest items added to all categories of the store.

Hopefully my chatter this month has been a bit more interesting.  As we say in the South, please come on in and visit for a while.  I look forward to your finding something that you will love and cherish.  Thank you so much for being here.  Happy Shopping!
